International Cooperation is an important element of work of the Seimas Ombudsmen‘s Office because it provides a platform for discussion on protection of human rights and freedoms and empowers the Seimas Ombudsmen to promote their work as well as share best practice and know-how. The Seimas Ombudsmen share their experience with both mature democracies, where human rights protection has a long tradition as well as with the new democracies. Every year not only individual persons from foreign countries but also delegations and officials of international organisations and ombudsmen institutions take interest in the activities of the Seimas Ombudsmen’s Office as well as investigations and preventive work performed by the Lithuanian Ombudsmen.
